Our Jolly June League Show was jam packed! Held at the lovely Sawda Equestrian Center in Port Orchard, we had 80 rides and a very full day with L judge Jill Seely. ?The July 8th Sizzling Summer show was also scheduled at Sawda and closed within 5 days of opening for entries. Judge was L Judge Mary Jo Kapust. Our next show will be August 11th Hot August Nights League show ? entries close August 3rd. Michael Osinksi ?S? judge will adjudicate. This show is followed the next day with a Show ?n Review Clinic. This follow up clinic is a wonderful opportunity to practice particular parts of your test that can use some special attention. Take the chance to learn from a judge?s point of view. Our clinician is our judge from the day before, Michael Osinski. Open for anyone with a urge to improve their scores! Both events are held at Silver Spurs Club in Silverdale, Wa.
We had a very successful clinic with Pilates instructor and author Beth Glosten with 9 riders attending the floor session and two mounted lessons.
And finally, the community held a heart-warming memorial for Eugene (Gene) A. Dueber Jr. Lt. Col. Ret. (USMC) and LPSDC founding member who passed away on April 26 at 96 years old. His daughter Dorothy and sons Peter and Eugene III hosted a celebration of his life at the Kitsap Saddle club on June 20. The event was well attended by Gene?s horse family who all brought food to share. The center pieces on the tables were various awards Gene and his horses received. For all of us, this evening with his family, filled with photos and stories was a perfect way to enjoy and talk about Gene?s many contributions to our lives.
