According to Brzezinski, the ongoing crisis in the Middle East, if intensified by an extensive military strike, would have a negative impact on the whole globe. Oil prices will increase, he specifies, which would ?wreak havoc on Europe?s financial recovery?.

I don?t get a chance to visit my family in Canada nearly as often as I?d like so I jumped at the chance to go home for a spell before heading to Las Vegas to work with ESPN on the Final Table of the WSOP Main Event.
Family
I feel like whenever I see my family, I?m jet-lagged all to hell and that kind of sucks. It?s like they only ever get to see me super tired and wonky, rather than at my best. Still, that?s kind of what family is for ? taking you however you are ? so I did my best to just settle in quickly and spend as much quality time there as possible. My Mom baked about a million pies with all of the fruit that Dad had in their garden and I ate like a queen every day. There?s something about going home that?s just so soothing.
WSOP 2012 Final Table
It didn?t last nearly long enough though and far too quickly, I was back in an airplane and headed for the States to spend a few days in California sorting through all of the belongings that I?ve had there in storage for the past 6 months. I?m officially moving back to Europe and needed way more than 4 days to go through all of my stuff but I did my best and hopefully it?ll all arrive safe and sound in Europe.

I went for a walk around the park with Buddy tonight as I always do. But as I was walking, I saw something blue glowing in the grass. I got closer and realized it was someone?s iPhone. I had just missed a call to this stranger?s phone. I picked it up and unlocked it so I could email the owner that I had their phone. However, it was passcode protected. So I had to wait for a call to come through.
There needs to be a button that you can press that circumvents passcode protection that creates an email to the owner saying you have their phone. It?s interesting that security presumes that an unauthorized user only wants to do harm, not good. But I?d bet that 95% of us, if not more, would return a found iPhone if we had the opportunity. I get it though?security is only as good as its weakest link.
The story has a happy ending. He got his phone back about 20 minutes after I found it.?
Nokia has announced its lowest priced Windows Phone to date: the WP7.5 Nokia Lumia 510 replaces the Lumia 610 as the entry level WP handset -- with an estimated retail price of $199 (excluding taxes and subsidies). India and China are the initial target markets, starting in November, "followed closely" by other Asia-Pac countries and South America.
ABM, which is wrapping up its Executive Forum being held in Chicago this week, voted nine new companies into membership at its board of directors meeting Monday.
Media members include Editorial Projects in Education, InsuranceNewsNet.com and new international member Beuth Verlag GmbH.
The association also added six associate members, including Adobe Systems Inc., bXb Online, LiveIntent, MagToGo, Tout and WeiserMazars LLP.
"These new members?ranging from traditional and international media companies to progressive businesses focused on app development, social media, virtual event technologies and digital monetization solutions?support ABM's initiative to represent the wide range of platforms and models leveraged by business information and media companies," said ABM president and CEO Clark Pettit in a statement.
Meanwhile, news out of the Executive Forum includes a bit of research ABM did in partnership with Outsell that examined mobile content and business models. B-to-b executives responding to the joint survey, it seems, are not in it for the money?yet. Instead, brand enhancement, content delivery, serving advertisers' needs and creating a superior digital experience were the top mobile objectives, with 64 percent, 60 percent, 60 percent and 52 percent of responses, respectively.
At the bottom of the objectives list were "new revenue from mobile users (29 percent) and "enable mobile e-commerce" (24 percent).
Additionally, only 20 percent of respondents indicated they have a formal mobile strategy in place. The majority of respondents (56 percent) say their mobile strategy is somewhere between formal and ad hoc. A quarter, or 24 percent, say mobile is on an ad hoc, project or case-by-case basis.
Given that objectives aren't quite standardized and that 40 percent of respondents expect to break even with their mobile investments and 48 percent expect a negative ROI, mobile initiatives are clearly still in the experimental phase.

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Democratic Congressman Barney Frank defended the nation's largest bank on Monday, saying in a statement that the government was wrong to go after JPMorgan Chase & Co for the alleged misdeeds of Bear Stearns.
Frank, the co-author of the 2010 Dodd-Frank financial reform law, said federal and state officials should reconsider holding financial firms liable for the wrongdoing of institutions they absorbed at the government's urging.
The unusual statement comes after New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman sued JPMorgan, the nation's largest bank by assets on October 1 over mortgage-backed securities packaged and sold by Bear Stearns.
A JPMorgan spokeswoman declined to comment.
Since that suit was filed JPMorgan Chief Executive Jamie Dimon lashed out at the decision.
At a Washington event on October 10, Dimon said his bank and its shareholders were still paying the price for doing the Federal Reserve "a favor" by buying Bear Stearns in early 2008, when its instability was threatening the larger financial system.
Dimon said the suit could make financial firms think twice in the future about rescuing their failing rivals.
Frank, who served as chairman of the House Financial Services Committee during the Bear acquisition, said in his statement: "The decision now to prosecute J.P. Morgan Chase because of activities undertaken by Bear Stearns before the takeover unfortunately fits the description of allowing no good deed to go unpunished."
Frank backed up Dimon's assertion that it was the government that pushed Bear Stearns on JPMorgan.
Federal officials "believed that the failure of Bear Stearns would have terribly negative consequences for the economy," Frank said.
The officials urged JPMorgan "to do a good deed by taking over an institution which, I believe, the bank would never have sought to acquire absent that urging," he said.
A spokesman for the New York Attorney General's office did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
Frank also drew a line between what he said were fair legal actions and unfair ones, while noting he was not advocating for immunity for banks.
For example, he said Bank of America should probably be shielded from government legal action related to Merrill Lynch, which Bank of America took over in part because of federal officials' urging.
However, Frank said he was aware of no federal urging that led former Bank of America CEO Ken Lewis to take over Countrywide.

Just over a month ago, Vocus and Duct Tape Marketing released a study titled ?Pathway to Influence: a Study of SMBs* and Social Media.? ?(embedded below)
What?s important about this study is that it benchmarks social media utilization and implementation on a smaller-scale. ?Too often people tout Ford, Coca-Cola or some other huge entity as benchmarks for social media marketing success, but the scale and budget that those companies enjoy make their tactics somewhat irrelevant to companies with a smaller-scale. ?That said, this study of small and medium businesses STARTED at $5+ million revenue, so this should be a wake-up (at least somewhat) to a very small business or ambitious?entrepreneur?who is spending as much or more on budget than a $5 million company.
What the ?Pathway to Influence? study did was sense small and medium sized businesses on a whole range of topics around their social media presence. ?In aggregate, the insights offer a pretty good ?state of social media? for smaller businesses, and I think Vocus and Duct Tape Marketing (specifically Frank Strong and the phenomenal John Jantsch) did a great job identifying the need for this data and then collecting and presenting it in such a digestible fashion.
*SMB = small and medium-sized businesses
Who is managing social media marketing?
One of the key?takeaways?from the study was that 73% of the businesses in the study made social media marketing an additional function of their marketing department. ?Assuming that a portion of the remaining 27% would use interns or some zero-cost mechanism, this indicates that small businesses aren?t spending more money on headcount to manage their social media presence. ?This may indicate that there is more opportunity for social media marketing trainers than there are for community managers for businesses this size.
Another takeaway was that the average business in this study has a social media marketing budget of $845 per month for social media tools (just over $10K per year). ?Many?respondents also?indicated?that they expect to increase budget in the near-term. ?This may present an opportunity for social media consultants who have a broad understanding of social media management tools to set-up a robust set of tools, save a company money and pay their bills. ?It also seems to indicate that this size of business may be susceptible to software pitches because they have budget and because social media marketing is oftentimes ancillary to the marketing function.
What are people measuring?
One of the more illuminating insights from the study was the data on how these businesses are measuring their social media marketing efforts. ?It appears that many companies are marrying their social media efforts to their website, presumably (hopefully?) as part of an inbound?marketing campaign.
The additional measurements such as follower size, follower demographics, hashtags, et cetera seem to indicate that businesses are focusing a lot on awareness metrics for the majority of their measurements. ?While this seems somewhat incongruent with the theory that their social media marketing is tied into an active inbound marketing effort, it shows that businesses are measuring their efforts and it?s important to realize that businesses are not freewheeling social media.
Scale.
One of the statistics that stuck out for me was that only half of sensed businesses saw scale in their social media efforts as important. ?Assuming all or most of the $5 mil businesses are not local brick and mortar businesses, this indicates some misunderstanding of the power of social media. ?Sales has always been about?numbers,?and social media marketing isn?t a practice that breaks all conventional sales wisdom. ?In fact, because of the low-barrier to entry for most social media, scale may be more important for social than many other top-of-the-funnel tactics.
This indicates to me that there are training opportunities for businesses of this size (the caveat being that they would open to them), and that businesses who aren?t currently utilizing social media don?t have as steep a path to catch-up to their competition as one might think.
What I think this means
This study is a pretty honest assessment of how smaller businesses are utilizing social media marketing, and it provides a more realistic benchmark for smaller businesses than most examples of social media prowess. ?It shows that smaller businesses are investing in social media marketing, that their understanding of the channels are growing, and that they are committed to grow the channels for the future.

Some who want their ex who dumped them back do it solely out of guilt, revenge, pride, arrogance or any other reason that negates them having a healthy relationship even if they do get back.
You might want to compensate for a fault especially if you think that the reason your ex boyfriend dumped you was all due to you. There is a greater tendency to over compensate when you are looking to compensate for a perceived fault in any given relationship.
Being dumped is embarrassing and while we at it; actually stigmatizing so you have really got to sort out why you want to have your ex boyfriend who dumped you back.
Self Improvement
You are now set on the course of getting your ex who dumped you back; one area you have to consider is self improvement. There may be issues in your life that you might need to deal with and we are looking at the areas that are closely connected with the reason why your ex may have dumped you in the first place.
Are there things about you that directly caused the fallout in the first place? Are those things still there? If they are, common sense suggests that you might have a very hard time trying to get your ex boyfriend who dumped you back.
You may have to see how you can deal with it before attempting to get your ex back because even by some chance you do get him back and they are still there, they might just cause another break up that might be impossible to fix.

ST. LOUIS (AP) ? Carlos Beltran returned to the St. Louis Cardinals' starting lineup Friday night for Game 5 of the NL championship series.
Beltran said his strained left knee felt good enough to play. The All-Star right fielder underwent 2? hours of treatment during the day, plus acupuncture to increase blood flow to the knee.
Beltran was set to bat second against San Francisco. The Cardinals hold a 3-1 lead in the series.
"I'm good to go," Beltran said. "I feel better. I just needed to go out there and make some sprints 100 percent."
Manager Mike Matheny withheld his lineup card until less than two hours before gametime, waiting until Beltran was cleared by the team's medical staff.
The 35-year-old Beltran is hitting .400 with three home runs, five doubles and six RBIs in 30 at-bats this postseason.
Beltran was injured running out a double-play ball in the first inning of Game 3. Matt Carpenter replaced him and hit a go-ahead, two-run homer. Beltran did not play in Game 4, and Carpenter doubled, walked twice and scored two runs in the Cardinals' 8-3 victory Thursday night.
Beltran's biggest concern had been playing the outfield.
"Yesterday I would have loved to be in the lineup, but I just didn't make it," Beltran said.

Researchers at the Bellvitge Biomedical Research Institute (IDIBELL) and The Institute of Photonic Sciences (ICFO) have collaborated on the development of a diagnostic tool that identifies the metastatic ability of breast cancer cells. The analysis is based on the characterization of the lipid component of the cells, which is indicative of malignancy. This has allowed the researchers to develop a classifier to discriminate cells capable of inducing metastasis. The results of the study have been published in the online version of the scientific journal PLoS ONE.
The characterization of the lipids associated with malignancy has been possible thanks to the technological development of a spectroscopic device named Raman along with the versatility offered by the experimental models of breast cancer. The results of this process form the basis for introducing this technique in routine cytological diagnosis, which could be extended in the future to diagnose other tumours.
The researchers have analyzed the main components and, partly, the less discriminating ones to assess the profile of the lipid composition of breast cancer cells. They have generated a classification model that segregated metastatic and non-metastatic cells. "The algorithm for the discrimination of the metastatic ability is a first step towards the stratification of breast cancer cells using this quick and reactive tool", explains the study coordinator, ngels Sierra, researcher at the Biological Clues of the Invasive and Metastatic Phenotype group of IDIBELL.
Using cytology techniques, the researchers have found a correlation between the activation of lipogenesis (the chemical reaction leading to fatty acids in an organism) and the amount of saturated fats in metastatic cells indicating a worse prognosis and a decreased survival. The lipid content of the breast cancer cells might be a useful measure to determine various functions coupled to the progression of breast cancer. The work has been supported by the Instituto de Salud Carlos III, the former Spanish Ministry of Science and Innovation and the private Cellex Barcelona Foundation.

University of Florida student Christian Aguilar, 18.
CEDAR KEY, Fla. ??The parents of missing University of Florida student Christian Aguilar believe that the body found in Levy County is their son, his father said Saturday.
?I just want to make sure that everybody knows that our prayers have been heard. We, as a family believe that Christian has been found, but we will wait until the authorities confirm it,?Carlos Aguilar said during a news conference in Gainesville.
?At this moment the only think we want to say as a family, is to thank every single person that supports our family during this horrible time," he added.
Aguilar's parents also they had not seen the remains, so the identification of the body was not confirmed yet, but they said they were glad they had a sense of closure.
The body was found around 2:30 p.m. Friday by hunters at the Gulf Hammock Hunting Club, east of Cedar Key, according to the Gainesville Sun. Gainesville police said they responded to the area off State Road 24 on Parker Boulevard, at the request of the Levy County Sheriff?s Office. The area is about 60 miles southwest of Gainesville.
Christian Aguilar was last seen in Gainesville with a friend, Pedro Bravo, also 18, who has been charged with first-degree murder. Police say Bravo told them he beat Aguilar unconscious and left him in a parking lot.
The body was found around 2:30 p.m. Friday by hunters at the Gulf Hammock Hunting Club, police said.
"Two young fellas were looking for firewood by themselves," Fred Oliver, a volunteer with the sheriff?s office, told the Gainesville Sun. "They picked up the scent, the odor of something dead."

Officers drive on Parker Boulevard off State Road 24 near Cedar Key, Fla., on Friday, after a body that may be missing University of Florida student Christian Aguilar was found.
Oliver told the Sun that the young men thought they had stumbled onto the remains of a dead deer, and maybe they could get a set of antlers. What they found was a decomposed, partially buried body.
"It was obviously human," Oliver said, adding that it was near the dirt road.
Authorities said they found blue Vans shoes, duct tape and blue jeans with the decomposed remains.
The clothes matched the description of what Aguilar was wearing when he was last seen Sept. 20 with Bravo at a Gainesville Best Buy.

The remains need to be identified through forensic methods, but Oliver told the Sun, "They're almost sure they know who it is."
Police initially charged Bravo with depriving a crime victim of medical care, but he was charged with murder after police said they found blood in Bravo's SUV and found Aguilar's backpack hidden inside a suitcase in Bravo's closet.
