Dartmouth Academy?s sports department is looking for a town business to support its football and netball teams with sponsorship for new kits.
The Academy has started competing in outside competitions again this year after a long break ? and Lead Practitioner for Physical Education Luke Payne is keen to connect the teams to the town through business sponsorship.
?We?ve made a lot of progress in the provision of extracurricular sport over the last twelve months,? he said, ?including lunchtime intra school competitions and after school clubs in netball, rugby, football, table tennis, rowing and badminton. We?ve achieved Olympic ?Get Set? recognition, created our Sports Leaders system where older students help in the coaching of the younger children in our Academy Family and now we want to push on.
?It?s a great feeling for Academy team members to know the town is behind them, andsponsorship of our kits is a great way to show that.
?At the Academy we believe that sport is an integral part of any education ? teaching team work,application and bringing massive health benefits. We want to inspire our students to take part in more sport and the support of the community could help enormously.?
The Academy is looking for a business to sponsor all of its kits for football and netball as the competitive season ramps up.
Dartmouth Academy Principal Nick Hindmarsh said: ?We are delighted with the progress that our sports department have made over the last year and look forward to more improvements in the next twelve months. We think it?s important to work with the Dartmouth community and its businesses and hope that a sponsor can be found to help cement our place in the community even more firmly.?
