Launch of New Interview Series?
Possibly the best way to get ideas and inspiration is to hear from those who have been successful or responsible for great business development strategies.
With this simple model mind I have recently been interviewing a variety of influential business people at senior director, Chief Executive and Managing Director level for the future series of ?Backstage Business Development? interviews that will be launching soon on the Financial Times Guide To Business Development Blog. Here is a list of just some of the people I have met and interviewed in the last week for the series.
Jeremy Ellis ? Marketing Director of TUI UK, which includes Thomson and First Choice Holidays. Jeremy chatted to me about how Thomson Holidays have found a way to differentiate themselves from the competition by creating holiday brands and products out of the specific holiday requirements of different types of people.
John Roberts ? Founder and Chief Executive of Appliances Online ? John is one of the most inspirational business people I have ever met and who has built a hugely successful business around innovative concepts of ?customer service?. He has transformed the way in which people buy their white goods, like freezers, fridges etc.
Wendy Atkin-Smith ? UK Managing Director of Viking River Cruises ? Viking are the world?s leading river cruise line. I spoke to Wendy about how Viking River Cruises have continued to grow and develop their business in the face of a difficult economic climate.
These articles will be posted soon and all contain some great material that will give everyone interested in business development real food for thought, discussion and future action.
